Package: R 1,106,040.00 per annum plus benefits
Requirements
MBCHB degree or equivalent, appropriate qualification that allows registration with HPCSA as Medical Specialist in Family Medicine. Valid Registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in Family Medicine, independent practice BLS, ACLS, AMLS, ATLS certificates will be an added advantage
Duties
Duties, Knowledge, skills, training and competencies required: Good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent problems solving as well as conflicts resolution skills. Good knowledge of National and Provincial Policies and Guidelines. Sound knowledge and clinical skills in General Medicine with focus on chronic medical conditions. Sound Knowledge in Family Medicine as well as acute medical and surgical emergencies. Ability to triage, assess, diagnose, manage patients’ conditions and refer to higher or lower level of care if deemed necessary. Participate in CPD activities, Clinical Audits, MM meetings, Patients safety incidents reporting, complaints Management and Quality improvement Plans. Training and supervision of Junior staff especially medical interns. Outreach to Discoverers and other local clinics. Participate in the District Referral meetings. Good Computer skills. Key Performance Areas Ability to provide high quality patient-centered care to all patients attending Helen Joseph Hospital Polyclinic. Ability to update the existing Guidelines and protocols as well as to develop new ones for better service delivery and patients’ outcomes. Supervise and conduct research according to the Hospital, District and Provincial needs. Ability to adhere to Provincial referral Policy: up referrals and down referrals. Ensure the provision of continuity of care to patients for better outcomes. Ability to keep medical records in line with the Provincial Policy and Guidelines. Adhere to ethical values that govern the medical profession. Participate in compulsory commuted overtime.
