Education:

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Family Physician.

DUTIES (KEY RESULT AREAS/OUTPUTS)

Clinical Governance and clinical guidance to facility managers at the Hospital and Clinics. Clinical service provision and clinical managerial tasks with regards to medical and allied health staff. Clinical service provision at Specialist level in Family Medicine, sub-special and Emergencies. Training of students, community service staff, Medical Officers and Allied Health staff and appropriate research in Family Medicine. Assist Manager: Medical Services with HR and financial resource management duties.

REQUIREMENT

Valid driver’s license (Code B/EB). Willing to render Commuted Overtime duties at the Hospital. Willingness to work at the PHC Clinics in theSub-district. Must be willing to do on-site second call overtime.

Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist. Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years’ appropriate experience as Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA (or a recognised foreign health professional council in respect of a foreign qualified employee) as a Medical Specialist, Family Physician. Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate experience as Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA (or a recognized foreign health professional council in respect of a foreign qualified employee) as a Medical Specialist, Family Physician. Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Medical Specialist in Family Medicine
